Covered When it Counts

Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

While normal open enrollment begins in November, certain events can trigger a special enrollment period which allows insurance to be applied for immediately. One of the most common events is loss of job and coverage.

That’s where the Mountain Health CO-OP has you covered.

Follow this link to begin your application. Once you enter your zip code and pertinent information you will be directed to the Affordable Care Act marketplace to complete your application. We’ve made it as seamless as possible, but if you need assistance you can email us at info@mhc.coop or call us at 855-447-2900.

Not visiting us because of a loss of coverage? That’s ok, you can still qualify for the special exemption period for any of these reasons:

  • Marriage

  • Divorce of Separation

  • Birth

  • Adoption or Foster

  • Court Order

  • Relocation to a new ZIP Code, county or state

  • Loss of eligibility to health insurance subsidies

  • Loss of Medicaid or CHIP

  • Death
